Breitling Launch Meteorite-Dial Chronomat In Collaboration With Erling Haaland
Seeing Erling Haaland on the pitch for the first time is like spotting a Norse god in a football kit — a blonde menace coming at you with nothing but brute force. He doesn’t so much run at defenders as plow through them, with a gait that’s part gallop, part guided missile. You might expect someone his size (6’4”, built like a linebacker) to lumber around, but don’t be fooled — Haaland moves with terrifying speed and intent.

Since arriving at Manchester City in 2022, the towering Norwegian striker has bulldozed his way through Premier League defenses with the kind of ferocity that’s earned him nicknames like “The Terminator”. And for good reason. In his debut season, Haaland scored a staggering 36 goals in the league, breaking the record for most goals in a single Premier League campaign. Even skeptics of his beastly play style, like myself, couldn’t resist making him a Fantasy Football pick (until form dictated otherwise).

With his fearsome pace, physicality, and relentless goal-scoring ability, there’s no denying Haaland’s impact on the game. His father, Alfie Haaland, was a pro himself, but the younger Haaland has already eclipsed that legacy on a global scale, becoming a global football icon in his early 20s. So what do you do for a guy who has cemented his place as one of the most formidable forwards in the modern era?
Is this Breitling’s most collectible Chronomat yet?
Haaland, who’s currently part of Breitling’s “All-Star Squad” in his capacity as ambassador, has teamed up with the brand to create a watch that’s as explosive as his game. The Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat is presented in a trio of limited-edition timepieces featuring dials cut from genuine Muonionalusta meteorite. These cosmic creations are a first for Breitling and, fittingly, each dial is entirely unique.
Haaland was involved in every step of the design process. “I wanted something one of a kind,” he says. “The Chronomat just clicked … And the meteorite makes each one different. You’re never going to see the same watch on someone else’s wrist.” The design features his initials, his famous goal celebration etched on the caseback, and a dial unlike any other, for each one cut from 4.5-billion-year-old astral rock.
The meteorite used — Muonionalusta — landed in northern Sweden nearly one million years ago and is believed to be over 4.5 billion years old. Its Widmanstätten pattern, formed by slow-cooling iron and nickel in the vacuum of space, creates an interesting pattern and texture where lines of different depths form over one another, creating a random hex pattern.

Two models from the Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat collection are available to the public. The first is the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40, which features a stainless steel case paired with a platinum bezel and a meteorite dial. This version is limited to just 500 pieces. The second is the Chronomat B01 42, crafted in 18K red gold and equipped with a meteorite dial and black chronograph subdials, limited to only 250 pieces.
Beyond the space rock and exclusivity, each watch is powered by serious mechanical muscle. The B01 42 features Breitling’s in-house Caliber 01 with 70-hour power reserve, while the GMT 40 includes Haaland’s signature red-gold accents and an engraved portrait in his iconic Lotus celebration pose. And just like the special-edition Chronomat created with Victoria Beckham, the watch also bears Haaland’s initials, “EH”, on the central chronograph seconds hand.

In addition to these, a third ultra-exclusive edition is limited to just five pieces. This edition serves as a private tribute to Haaland’s meteoric rise and will not be released to the public. It includes deeply personal engravings and a bespoke case design, making it an intimate and highly meaningful keepsake.
